Time flies when you’re having fun, it certainly does for us. Before we enter the busy season in December we wanted to have a look back at October when we ran our Healthy Holiday club.
This was the first time we delivered our holiday program sessions online. Content packs were distributed before the program started so that participants could really be involved in the sessions that we ran through Zoom.
We had a very varied program during our Healthy Holiday program. We started the week with a cooking demo of vegetable stroganoff and continued with the food theme on Tuesday with a baking demo to make Victoria sponge cake. On Wednesday we did an online treasure hunt, on Thursday there was a monster story writing workshop, on Friday we had a musical session, and we ended the week on Saturday with making stress balls. There really was something for everyone and for all ages. These activities were also perfect family activities to get stuck in with the whole family.
During this week we supported 36 families and 71 children. We really enjoyed it and so did the participants. Hear from some of the participants what they thought of the Healthy Holiday program:
“I attended more than on session and they was all fantastic well organised my son enjoyed it so much.”
“We as a family enjoyed them so much, we spent some lovely quality time with each other, working as team.”
“The activities were amazing my son enjoyed them so much thanks again for taking the time to organize it all.”
The Healthy Holiday club will be back during the winter holidays. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for more information on this to follow soon.
Thank you to everybody for taking part and for all volunteers who helped us out during this week!
