Below you can find a list of our current charitable projects.

Cooking on a Budget

Our Cooking on a Budget course is a five-week program that is delivered on a Friday evening, between 5:30pm and 7:30 PM (sometimes this is a daytime course and run in partnership with BMBC central family centre) and is £5 per person. Held mainly at St George's Church York Street Barnsley.

This course is a fantastic opportunity to gain a level 2 Food and Hygiene Certificate. We offer a free childcare service which is provided by qualified childcare volunteers who have all undergone a DBS check. We have a lot of interest in this course, so booking is essential in order to avoid disappointment. Please call 07462662292 to book your place or book our next cooking course event via Our Cooking on a Budget course started in March 2018 and on average we do 4-5 courses every calendar year.  We have been funded by several funding bodies and organisations

Health Holidays

Healthy Holidays

During the school holidays, we provide workshops, games, arts and crafts, and other activities on several days across Barnsley school holidays and various times.

You can find the upcoming dates on our events page.

This service is for children primarily on free school meals from the age of 4 to 16 years old. We do have a number of places for children not on free school meals at a cost of £1 per child per session.

A meal is provided to all children attending (sometimes the adults too 😉)

Our 4 to 11-year-old sessions require a parent or carer to be present and we ask that children must be supervised by their dedicated adult at all times unless they are 8 and over.

Our 8 to 16-year-old sessions do not require an adult to be present as long as the young person has consent from their parent or carer.

The Healthy Holidays Program is mainly funded and supported by:

  • Department of Education

  • FairShare Yorkshire

  • Meals and More

  • BMBC Central Area Team

  • BMBC HAF Team

We look forward to meeting you all at our next session!
