Saturday 19th December 2020 - 

10:00 - Opening Video - A video from our chairperson, Peter Robertshaw, will be posted onto facebook which will provide more information about what will be on offer, competition information and information on the Zoom platform where most of the events take place. 

12:30 - 17:30 - Activity Pack Collection - The activity packs will be available for collection from Barnsley Churches Drop-In Project, Temperance House, Lower Ground Floor, Pitt Streetm S70 1AL. There is 1 pack per child. Please note that social distancing rules must be followed and masks must be worn when collecting your pack. If you or anyone in your household is self-isolating please arrange for a friend or family member to collect your pack. 

14:30 - Sausage Roll Making - We will be uploading a pre-recorded session with Peter which will demonstrate how to make delicious sausage rolls using ready made pastry, with the ingredients provided to you in your activity pack. 

Sunday 20th December 2020 - 

11:00 - Letters to Santa - This live session with Becky Gau will help you to write your letters to Santa and help to get parents and children alike in the spirit of Christmas. 

13:00 - Christmas Tree Making - In this live session Bev Slater will show you how make a christmas tree out of paper plates which can be used as a lovely festive decoration!

Monday 21st December 2020 - 

11:00 - "12 Days of Christmas" - During this pre-recorded session Martha Hayward and Matthew Lazenby will be teaching the children all about the 12 days of Christmas. Children can learn more about what each day is and listen to Martha and Matthew singing through the song, as well as others. We will also provide you with activity work sheets relating to the days of Christmas. 

Tuesday 22nd December 2020 - 

10:30 until 12pm - Santa Maze - Join William Redpath from Manabu Learning in this live interactive session, which incorporates visual learning, exercise, games and Christmas fun! Children will have to make their way through a maze by following the trail of dropped presets which is sure to be high energy fun. 

13:00 until 15:00 - Visit from Santa - Come and experience the magic of saying hello to Santa himself and his wonderful helper, Ellie the Elf, in this live session. Children will be able to talk to Santa and let him know just what they would like for Christmas! 

Wednesday 23rd December 2020 - 

10:30 - Gingerbread House Making - Come and join Ellie live in this interactive session where you can put together a magical gingerbread house and let your creativity flow, whilst Ellie provides help and support along the way.

14:30 - Mince Pie Making - During this pre-recorded video with Toni you'll learn how to make mince pies that are not only delicious but are also easy to make. We're sure that Santa will appreciate you leaving 1 or 2 out for him to enjoy while he drops off your presents!

Sunday 27th December 2020 - 

11:00 - Handprint Firework - Join Bev live as she teaches you how to make a firework out of your hand print which you can use to celebrate the new year! 

Monday 28th December 2020 - 

13:00 - Festive Shortbread Star Making - This pre-recorded video with Carmen Thresh teaches you and your little ones how to make scrumptious festive shortbread stars, which make the perfect gift or snack for any Christmas event!

Tuesday 29th December 2020 - 

10:30 - New Year Wishing Wand - Come along to this live session with Ellie where she will show you how to make a wishing wand that you can use to make all your 2021 wishes come true! 

Wednesday 30th December 2020 - 

11:00 - Goal Setting Workshop - Come along and join a live goal setting session with Elaine Senior. We will start by thinking about how our minds control our behaviours and then we’ll think about how you can plan for something in your future, taking small steps every week or month to get there.  We’ll have some fun, we’ll share some ideas and we’ll leave the session with a good feeling about ourselves and what we are capable of.

Elaine is a Learning & Development Consultant with over 30 years’ experience of running sessions just like this one.  She runs her own company, Effective Works Ltd, and runs face to face as well as virtual training sessions to people of all ages and abilities.  She’s based in South Yorkshire, where she has always lived, and has been a cub-scout leader amongst other things.  Elaine is fully DBS checked.

13:00 - Closing Video - During this live session Peter will remind you all about to submit your competition entries and talk about the week's activities with you, along with a few thoughts for 2021. 

Additional Sessions and Activities

Alongside all these fantastic events we will also be releasing 4 pre-recorded videos from Christine Mulrooney who will tell us the Story of Christmas and other fascinating stories. 

There will also be 2 additional acitivities within your activity pack for colouring and decorating at a time that you choose.

We would also like to say a big thank you to Tesco Stairfoot for donating 10 selection boxes and 4 boxes of wrapping paper.

    This option will enable you to reserve an activity pack with everything you need to join in our online sessions. These are only available to people within Barnsley.

    This option allows you access to all of the online sessions, but without an activity pack included. This means that you will have to provide your own equipment and ingredients.
